What is the AMC?
AMC is an association funded in 1992 without profitmaking or corporative
purposes, being its main aim the spread of scientific information and
documentation about Alternative Medicines and the organization of activities
related to it, to improve the level of the professionals who practice
them or to begin their training.
Who is in
the AMC?
Mainly they are health professionals, but it is open to anybody who wishes
to collaborate or to take part in it.
Nor the collaborators neither the subscribers have necessarily the same opinions and it is not the aim of the AMC to get an agreement on this. Our association only pretends to place alternative information in circulation on other possible views of the medicine, and to provide contacts of associations or professionals that practise them all around the world.
Moreover, the AMC contributes to the spread of critical information about
the official health system. See, for example, in the Revista de Medicinas

MAGAZINE
OF COMPLEMENTARY MEDICINES - HOLISTIC MEDICINE, BOOKS and VIDEOS
Biannual edition of this magazine, in book format 400 pgs., that from
1986 onwards offers technical information about complementary medicines,
presented by the best international specialists and scientists. Furthermore,
the AMC periodically publishes Technical Books and edits videos, some
at professional level and others at popular level.
All the publications of the AMC have a 50% discount for the subscribers
of the Magazine of Complementary Medicines - Holistic Medicine.

Access to two documentation centres:
ACUDOC: International Documentation Centre of GERA (Study and Research Group in Acupuncture), with the world's largest database in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
AMCDOC: This is the AMC's own Documentation
Centre and includes all the fields: Acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine,
Dietetics, Phytotherapy, Homeopathy, Biologic Medicine, Western Medicine
(all specialties), Ethnomedicines, Osteopathy, Psychology, Qi Gong, Massage,
etc. It allows subscribers to get discounts in documents and books.
CONTACTS
One of the main aims of the AMC is to promote the exchange of information
and experiences among associations and professionals in the area of complementary
medicines. For that purpose we host the section Contacts in Complementary
Medicines, that has been updated and published along the years in the
Magazine of the Association.
We also provide links to other websites we thinks are of interest, in
Spanish are in other languages. You can contact us to recommend other
sites.
HUMANITARIAN
ASSOCIATION BAREFOOT DOCTORS
We collaborate with this association. The special feature of it is that
it develops an efficient and cheap medical activity. It's main objective
is the self-management of the primary healthcare of the communities they
work with. The training of the participants is made in the Free Faculty
of Natural Medicines in Paris.
COCOA COOPERATIVE
It is a cooperative group set up to buy acupuncture material in collaboration
with GERA. It offers profitable conditions for the purchase of that material.
THERAPEUTIC
ADVISE:
The AMC offers consultations and therapeutic advise of its coordinator
Alfredo Embid, from Monday to Thursday at 16:00-20:00.

AVAILABLE IN THE WEB
The Association of Alternative Medicines offers, at no cost, some of the
articles published in the magazine Holistic Medicine.
CIAR:
1- Bulletin WEAPONS AGAINST WARS:
Our weekly "Weapons Against Wars" electronic Bulletin, in Spanish,
give full of information about what the media of disinformation don't
tell us. It is specially centered on the disinformation concerning radioactive
contamination. The texts are in Spanish, but the contacts and links at
the end of each one are in English.
